Our 10 year partnering contract with Southwark Council
In 2009, Southwark included A&E Elkins as a partner on their framework to deliver the completion of the “Decent Homes” contract. This affects estates within the southern area of Southwark over a period of 10 years (5 + 5 years).
The “Warm Dry and Safe Scheme” was introduced by Southwark Council shortly after. Which placed emphasis on the needs of the residents and to make sure that they were catered for. As a result, A&E Elkins were appointed the areas of Nunhead, Peckham Rye and Dulwich.
Our in-house building surveying department started studies on the entire stock and provided this information to Southwark to focus on their requirements as our client. Consequently, a template for the work has been employed by all the partners within the framework.
For several years, we have been working in partnership with Southwark Council’s Apprenticeship team to provide places for rising talent. We currently employ 4 apprentices, who are working with our skilled workforce. Community initiatives and fund raising events within Southwark are also a focal point of our business.
In 2013, Our appointment within the framework was expanded. Having already successfully completed 10 projects, we are in the process of surveying other large estates that will commence over the next several months.
